At our VOSA approved MOT testing centre at Woodhall Spa in Lincolnshire, we employ a team of professional vehicle technicians, highly trained in the latest maintenance and diagnostic technologies.
Management Team
We are privileged to have a skilled team of experienced managers and administrators at the helm of our business. In their own words, this is a little about them and how they came to Mid Lincs Commercials.
Andy Shaw – Workshop and Technical Manager
I left school in 1982 and took full-time employment, first as an apprentice HGV Technician and several years later as Workshop Foreman with a large General Haulier in their in-house workshop and maintenance facility. There we undertook all types of tasks associated with HGV/LGV, trailer and handling equipment, MOTs, maintenance, repairs and breakdown.
In 2001 I took the post of Technical Manager in a company delivering their own goods, many on a just in time and timed deliveries basis. The role was to manage the workshops looking after a mixed range fleet of vehicles, trailers and plant equipment, ensuring that all servicing, maintenance, repair and MOT schedules and demands were met, whilst achieving full VOSA/DVSA compliance.
In 2016 I joined Mid Lincs Commercials. Over the years I have attended training courses on a wide range of vehicle and transport related subjects, I also hold an OCR National transport manager’s qualification. I know that people and operators require and expect a good, reliable and honest service from maintenance providers. From the operator’s point of view, compliance is paramount.
Christine Norton – Financial Assistant
I left school in 1976 and began working for John Morrell’s at Bardney, as an Office Junior. After a couple of years, after teaching myself shorthand, I became Secretary to five of the managers. During this time I covered work in Personnel, First Aid and all aspects of office work. I left in 1985 when I had my first child. For a short time, I was a full-time mum, having had three children. Then I did book-keeping for my husband who was selling second-hand cars at the time. I also worked for TNT doing data inputting in the evenings.
I was then offered a job at Becks Garage in Horncastle (owned by Mr M. Pedersen). In 2006 I came to work at the Roughton Site where I worked in the HGV Garage, doing invoicing and Inspection Schedules etc. Although I am in the main office I primarily still work for the HGV Garage and Bobcat Departments. Looking forward, I hope to be part of the new workshops and MOT testing station, working alongside Mr Andy Shaw. I would like to think I could be an asset to the Company which has gone from strength to strength over the years.
